Phonies....

Anytime a new fitness craze hits, there's a ton of people that jump on the bandwagon and attempt to capitalize. It happened with MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), look at how many MMA "Experts" have opened up schools in the past 5 years. I have been teaching a Mixed Martial Art ever since the late 80's. I was chastised by the Martial Arts Community (not to my face) for not being a "purist". Hey - Fighting is Fighting - It either works or it doesn't. Bottom Line.

People now say that they "Train UFC". Do they also train "GE" or "Bank of America"? The UFC is a corporation. There is only a very small percentage of people that actually hold a UFC contract. So either they fight in their basement with their friends and call it "UFC" or they are being trained by an unscrupulous instructor.

Kettlebells are now gaining great popularity. The phonies are running rampant! A number of years ago, I discovered the benefits of kettlebells and purchased the Steve Kotter Encyclopedia and went to Pavel Tsatsouline for my RKC certification. The same with my MMA Training - I trained in Jiujitsu and went to Frank Shamrock for advanced levels of certification. I did not grab a bell, make up some moves (that look like dumbbell movements), call myself an expert and dupe people into buying my videos. Look at Ryan Shanahan - it disgusts me.

Check out my site for authentic training - www.philross.com

Do it & more importantly - do it right!
